At H&P Wellness Centre, our group programmes are designed to create safe, supportive, and culturally grounded spaces where people can heal, grow, and reconnect alongside others who understand their journey. We believe healing happens through connection. Our groups encourage whakawhanaungatanga, shared learning, reflection, and practical strategies that support long-term wellbeing and personal transformation.

Group Programmes

We currently offer a range of group programmes including:

Our group spaces are respectful, confidential, and welcoming, supporting participants to build confidence, resilience, emotional awareness, and healthier ways of navigating life’s challenges.

Grounded in both evidence-based approaches and Māori models of wellbeing, our programmes may include:

  • Narrative therapy

  • Somatic and body-based healing

  • Psychoeducation

  • Mindfulness and grounding tools

  • Cultural practices and connection

  • Peer support and shared experiences

Our programmes are facilitated by experienced clinicians and peer support workers who bring professional knowledge, cultural understanding, and lived experience into every space we create.

Spaces are often limited to ensure groups remain safe and supportive for everyone involved.

We offer support across Otago, South Otago, and Central Otago, with flexible options available to meet people where they are most comfortable.

Women of Strong Heart

Manawa Nui Wāhine is a culturally grounded healing programme created to support wāhine on their journey of healing, reconnection, and empowerment.

Facilitated by the experienced team at H&P Wellness Therapy Ltd, this programme provides a safe and nurturing space for women to explore trauma, strengthen identity, build resilience, and reconnect with themselves and others through shared healing and culturally informed therapeutic practice.

Grounded in compassion, connection, and mana-enhancing support, Manawa Nui Wāhine encourages participants to move at their own pace while being supported within a respectful and empowering group environment.

Participants are supported through a range of therapeutic and culturally grounded approaches including:

Men’s Healing & Recovery Group

Te Whakatipu Tāne is a culturally grounded men’s healing programme facilitated by Ngāti Poona through H&P Wellness Therapy Ltd.

This programme provides a safe and supportive space for tāne seeking healing, growth, reconnection, and transformation. Grounded in lived experience, peer support, cultural understanding, and trauma-informed practice, Te Whakatipu Tāne supports men to reconnect with identity, strengthen wellbeing, and build healthier pathways forward.

Through guided group discussions, practical tools, somatic and body-based healing practices, and whakawhanaungatanga, participants are encouraged to explore their experiences in a respectful and empowering environment.

The programme incorporates:

  • Peer support and connection

  • Trauma-informed healing practices

  • Emotional awareness and regulation

  • Identity and self-worth development

  • Somatic work and grounding practices

  • Narrative therapy approaches
